2 salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 oz each
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
Juice of 1/2 lemon
-
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
-
Lemon wedges, for serving
Cookware Used
1. Prepare the Salmon:
-
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

2. Preheat the Cast Iron Skillet:
-
Place your cast iron skillet on the stove over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and let it heat up for a minute.

3. Sear the Salmon:
-
Carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down. Sear for 3-4 minutes without moving them. This creates a crispy skin.
-
Flip the fillets using a spatula and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the salmon is cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.

4. Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce:
-
In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
-
Add butter to the skillet. Let it melt and bubble, stirring occasionally. Squeeze in the lemon juice and stir to combine. Cook for another minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
5. Finish and Garnish:
-
Return the seared salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the top. Let the salmon cook for an additional minute in the sauce, allowing the flavors to meld.
-
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.
6. Serve Hot:
-
Plate the garlic butter salmon fillets. Drizzle any remaining sauce from the skillet over the top.
-
Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.
7. Enjoy:
